Cohen, Todd, Kite & Stanford, LLC assists business and individual clients in the
effective management of accounts receivable related issues throughout Ohio and Kentucky.
The Collections Practice Group focuses on litigation driven collections complemented
by pre-litigation collection activity. The practice areas of the Group include:
Commercial Collections
The Collections Practice Group represents small and large businesses from numerous
industries including credit unions, banks, and construction material suppliers in
business to business collection activities. The attorneys in this area provide pre-litigation
collection services including assessment of assets and loan work-outs, collection-related
litigation, and aggressive post-judgment collection activities. Initially, the attorneys
work with debtors to restructure an obligation and establish a voluntary repayment
program. if no voluntary plan is established, the attorneys make a litigation recommendation
including an assessment of the likelihood of recovery.
Consumer Collections
The Collections Practice Group represents small and large businesses including credit
unions, banks, medical providers, and landlords in recovering receivables owed by
consumers. The collection process is fully compliant with the FDCPA and includes
pre-suit demand letters, litigation, and aggressive post-judgment collection activity.
The firm uses advanced collections specific software to monitor and automate the
collection process for faster results.
Landlord Tenant/Evictions
The Collections Practice Group also represents a wide variety of residential and
commercial landlords in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. The attorneys
within the Group are experienced in eviction issues, including Section 8 evictions
in Kentucky and Ohio, representation of mobile home parks (including abandoned mobile
home and title issues), and other standard eviction matters. Following the eviction
process, the attorneys can assist in the collection of past due rents and damages.
Subrogation
The Collections Practice Group handles automobile, homeowners, and medical subrogation
matters in a manner similar to commercial and consumer collection accounts. The
attorneys are experienced in all facets and types of litigation for subrogation
clients, including product liability, negligent home repair, vandalism, automobile
accidents, etc. Generally the attorneys focus on obtaining a judgment and collecting
that judgment using the standard collection procedures. This collection--based focus
in subrogation matters yields a larger recovery in most cases and allows for efficient
tracking of litigation through all phases, including post-judgment collection. |
