| Professional Experience | Don Rafferty is a business lawyer whose practice encompasses the areas of business reorganization, financial restructuring, civil litigation, and bankruptcy. In addition to advising businesses such as manufacturers, distributors, and medical practice groups in general corporate matters, Mr. Rafferty frequently counsels clients who are either experiencing financial stress or are dealing with distressed companies. He has depth and experience in negotiating the purchase or sale of distressed companies or assets. He has litigated a broad spectrum of business-related legal issues in numerous trial and appellate courts in both the federal and state court systems. Don's business litigation background includes significant experience in intellectual property matters, including patent and copyright infringement lawsuits. In addition, he frequently works with other members of the firm's White Collar Criminal Defense Group in representations involving complicated technical or financial criminal matters.
Mr. Rafferty has extensive experience in the representation of all constituencies - debtors, creditors, creditors' committees, and others - in Chapter 11 cases, and in out-of-court workouts. He has appeared in bankruptcy courts around the country. He also is a frequent speaker on business reorganization and bankruptcy related topics.
Mr. Rafferty was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers In America, 12th Edition (2006). He also was named as a 2006 Ohio Super Lawyer.
